Dieser Teil der Internationalen Norm beschreibt allgemeine Prüfverfahren für Alkydharze zur Verwendung in Beschichtungsstoffen und ähnlichen Produkten. Die Norm ist ebenfalls anwendbar auf Alkydharzlösungen und ähnliche Zubereitungen, die als Bindemittel für Beschichtungsstoffe eingesetzt werden. Die für ein bestimmtes Alkydharz anzuwendenden Prüfverfahren sind zwischen den Vertragspartnern zu vereinbaren.
