Dieser Teil von ISO 6504 beschreibt Verfahren zum Bestimmen des Deckvermögens (durch Messen des Kontrastverhältnisses) weißer oder heller Beschichtungsstoffe mit einem Y-Farbwert von mehr als 25, die mit einer Ergiebigkeit von 20 m²/l auf festgelegte schwarzweiße Kontrollkarten oder farblose, transparente Polyesterfolie aufgetragen werden, wobei im letzteren Fall der Y-Farbwert anschließend über festgelegten schwarzweißen Glasplatten gemessen wird.
