Diese Internationale Norm legt für pigmentierte Leder ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Farbänderung von Leder nach dem Reiben mit einem Standard-Anschmutzgewebe fest. Obwohl dieses Verfahren für alle Leder gelten könnte, ist es insbesondere anwendbar auf Polsterleder mit einer Zurichtung, d. h. vor allem auf Leder für den Einsatz in der Automobilindustrie. Der Lederprobekörper kann einer Vorbehandlung durch Scheuern oder Biegen unterzogen werden, um den
Gebrauch zu simulieren. Zusätzlich könnte der Lederprobekörper nach dem Anschmutzen zusätzlichen Prüfungen, wie dem Altern und Reinigen unterzogen werden.
