Dieses Dokument legt die allgemeinen Eigenschaften von weichmacherfreien Polyamid (PA-U)-Formmassen für die Herstellung von Rohren, Formstücken und Armaturen aus diesen Formmassen fest, die unterirdisch verlegt und für den Transport von gasförmigen Brennstoffen verwendet werden. Es spezifiziert ebenso die Prüfparameter für die Prüfverfahren, auf die es sich bezieht. Die Normenreihe ISO 16486 gilt für PA-U-Rohrleitungssysteme, deren Komponenten durch Schweißverbindungen und/oder mechanische Verbindungen zusammengefügt werden. Dieses Dokument legt ein Berechnungs- und ein Auslegungsschema als Grundlage für die Bestimmung des maximalen Betriebsdrucks (MOP, en: maximum operating pressure) eines PA-U-Rohrleitungssystems fest.
