Diese Internationale Norm legt ein Verfahren für die Bestimmung der Gesamt-Alpha- und Gesamt-Beta-Aktivität für Radionuklide, die bei 80 °C nicht flüchtig sind, in Wässern fest. Radon-Isotope und ihre Zerfallsprodukte mit kurzer Halbwertszeit werden nicht mitbestimmt. Das Verfahren ist anwendbar auf Roh- und Trinkwasser mit einem Trockenrückstand von weniger als 5 g/l und wenn keine Korrektur des Farbquench erforderlich ist.
