Festgelegt sind die Anforderungen an die Bauartprüfung und das Prüfverfahren für die Bauartzulassung von Ventilen für Gasflaschen mit einem Rauminhalt von bis zu 150 Liter für den Transport von verdichteten, verflüssigten oder unter Druck gelösten Gasen. Weiters gelten die Anforderungen nur für solche Ventile, die mit einem Handrad oder mit einem Schlüssel betätigt werden. Ausgenommen vom Anwendungsbereich sind Ventile für Atemschutzgeräte, Ventile für Flüssiggasflaschen, Ventile für Feuerlöscher sowie Ventile für den tiefkalten Einsatz.
