Diese Norm legt die Anforderungen für die Bauarteignung und Bauartzulassung terrestrischer photovoltaischer Dünnschichtmodule fest, die für den Langzeitbetrieb in gemäßigten Freiluftklimaten geeignet sind. Sie ist für amorphe Siliziumtechnologien bestimmt, kann aber für andere PV-Dünnschichtmodule angewendet werden. Sie gilt nicht für PV-Module, die in Verbindungen mit konzentrierenden Einrichtungen eingesetzt werden.
