Diese Norm legt die Sicherheitsanforderungen für Stromerzeugungsaggregate mit Hubkolben-Verbrennungsmotoren
bis 1000 V bestehend aus einem Hubkolben-Verbrennungsmotor und einem Wechselstromgenerator fest.
Eingeschlossen sind alle zusätzlichen Ausrüstungen, die für den Betrieb benötigt werden, z.B. Kontroll- und
Schalteinrichtungen.
Diese Norm gilt für Anwendungen an Land und auf Wasser, wobei Stromerzeugungsaggregate zum Gebrauch auf
Seeschiffen sowie mobilen Offshore-Anlagen als auch für den Antrieb von Straßenfahrzeugen, Flugzeugen und
Lokomotiven ausgeschlossen sind. Die besonderen Anforderungen für den Betrieb in explosionsgefährdeten
Bereichen werden in dieser Norm nicht behandelt.
Die für Stromerzeugungsaggregate wesentlichen Gefährdungen sind in Anhang A aufgelistet.
Diese Norm legt die besonderen Anforderungen für Stromerzeugungsaggregate basierend auf den allgemeinen
Anforderungen der EN 292-1 und EN 292-2 fest. Zusätzlich hat der Hubkolben-Verbrennungsmotor den
Anforderungen von EN 1679-1 zu genügen.
