Dieser Teil von IEC 60754 legt die Prüfgeräte und das Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Menge an Halogenwasserstoffsäure mit Ausnahme von Fluorwasserstoff fest, die bei der Verbrennung von Mischungen auf der Basis halogenierter Polymere oder von Mischungen mit halogenierten Additiven von Kabeln und Leitungen oder Glasfaserkabeln entstehen. Das in dieser Norm festgelegte Verfahren ist bestimmt zur Prüfung der einzelnen Werkstoffe, die in Kabeln verwendet werden. Die Verwendung dieser Norm ermöglicht die Überprüfung der Anforderungen, die in den entsprechenden Kabelnormen für die einzelnen Werkstoffe einer Kabelkonstruktion vorgegeben sind.
