Behandelt ist der technische Inhalt von Schweißanweisungen (WPS) für das Laserstrahlschweißen. Die angeführten Einflußgrößen beeinflussen die metallurgischen und mechanischen Eigenschaften, die Geometrie der Verbindung und andere Betriebskennwerte. Zusätzlich sind Einzelheiten anzugeben, wie eine Schweißarbeit durchzuführen ist. Sie muß alle entsprechenden Angaben über die Schweißaufgabe enthalten. Die Schweißanweisung kann für einen bestimmtem Dickenbereich der zu verbindenden Teile sowie für einen Bereich der Grundwerkstoffe und Zusatzwerkstoffe gelten. Einige Hersteller können zusätzlich das Erstellen von Arbeitsanweisungen für jede besondere Arbeitsaufgabe als Teil der einzelnen Fertigungsplanung bevorzugen.
