This Austrian Standard applies to burglar resistant windows, doors (door units) and additional shutters (e.g. rolling shutters, window shutters), namely for single-leaf and multi-leaf elements within the opening types turning, tilting, folding, tilting and turning, swinging, sliding (horizontally and vertically), rolling and folding, as well as for immovable building parts.
The classification of burglar resistance and the related requirements are specified in ÖNORM EN 1627, the necessary test methods are given in ÖNORM EN 1628, ÖNORM EN 1629 and ÖNORM EN 1630.
This ÖNORM does not cover the use of vehicles as well as manipulation facilities.
NOTE Building parts which can be reached or crossed by vehicles should be protected by appropriate measures, such as barriers, telescopic ramps, etc.
Requirements for bullet proof building parts are not covered by this ÖNORM, but are dealt with by ÖNORM EN 1522.
