This Austrian Standard contains procedural and contractual provisions governing the execution of dry construction works. To meet the diverse design options of dry construction works, the various dry construction systems are reduced to a few basic designs: wall systems (wall coverings, wall linings, stud walls), cladding of beams and columns, ceilings (ceiling linings, suspended ceilings, free stretched ceilings), floor systems (dry screeds, dry subfloors Raised floors) and fire protection systems (wall and ceiling structures, bulkheads, columns and fairings). ÖNORM B 2230-4 is applied for the purposes of fire protective coatings. Dry construction systems are generally non-structural elements, which achieve their structural and physical properties only from the interaction of sub-structure, insulation and final space clothing. The procedural and contractual provisions of glass works are regulated in ÖNORM B 2227.
