Zweck dieser Richtlinie ist eine einheitliche und nachvollziehbare Beurteilung von Schallimmissionen. Der Anwendungsbereich dieser Richtlinie umfasst die Beurteilung von Schallimmissionen aus gewerblichen Betriebsanlagen und verwandten Einrichtungen, Schallimmissionen von Straßen-, Schienen- und Flugverkehr sowie Schallimmissionen aus dem Baubetrieb und von Veranstaltungen. Schieß- und Sprenglärm sowie Infra- und Ultraschall unterliegen nicht dem Anwendungsbereich dieser Richtlinie.
