FAIR BUSINESS COMPLIANCE CERTIFICATION

Have your compliance management system certified according to the International Standards ISO 19600 and ISO 37001.

Certification protects and safeguards the reputation of your organization and reduces the risk of non-compliant actions. Thereby, you demonstrate transparency to your customers and stakeholders and build trust in your organization.

CERTIFICATION CREATES TRUST

The certification audits of Austrian Standards are exclusively conducted by experienced specialists in the field of compliance management – for example, corporate lawyers and certified accountants.

Certification offers you competitive advantages in the national and international market:

  • It facilitates your participation in call for tenders as well as access to international finance.
  • It provides independent proof of the effectiveness of your CMS.
  • It reduces the risk of prosecution for your organization and its officers.
  • It protects and safeguards the reputation of your organization.

THE ROUTE TO THE CERTIFICATION OF YOUR COMPLIANCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

You can have your CMS certified according to the International Standards ISO 19600 and/or ISO 37001. Compliance management systems fulfilling the criteria of ISO 19600 are also in conformity with ONR 192050.

  1. Application:
You define the scope of your CMS (sites, business segments, etc.).
  2. Audit – level 1:
Assessment of certification maturity: Based on your application, the certification body evaluates whether the technical requirements are met and whether your organization is ready for the certification audit.
  3. Audit – level 2:
Certification audit: The implementation of the standardized requirements and the effectiveness of the CMS are assessed in a comprehensive on-site audit.
  4. After steps 2 and 3 are completed successfully, the certificate is issued authorizing you to use the marking "FairBusiness® Compliance Certificate".
  5. To maintain your certificate, annual surveillance audits are carried out.
  6. Re-certification audits are carried out every three years to demonstrate the sustained and continuous quality of the compliance management system.

STANDARDS - THE BASIS OF CERTIFICATION

ISO 19600 "COMPLIANCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS"

The International Standard ISO 19600 "Compliance management systems" was published at the end of 2014 and is now available. It provides guidelines for developing, implementing, evaluating and improving an effective compliance management system (CMS) in an organization.

ISO 37001 - "ANTI-BRIBERY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS"

The International Standard ISO 37001 "Anti-bribery management systems – Requirements with guidance for use" was published in October 2016. In spite of the efforts made by governments to address this problem in international agreements, legal provisions alone are not enough. In fact, organizations themselves are bear responsibility for preventing bribery and corruption by taking targeted measures.

ISO 37001 supports the development and implementation of the appropriate organizational culture. Like all management system standards, ISO 37001 is also based on the High-Level Standard Framework so that it can be easily integrated into an existing compliance management system according to ISO 19600.

Of course, the ISO standard 37001 is not a guarantee against all types of corruption. However, the systems for implementing appropriate measures that are described in the document help companies and organizations to protect against, detect and prove corruption. Related certification – offered, for example, by Austrian Standards in a package with certification of a compliance management system according to ISO 19600 – demonstrates to the stakeholders that the anti-bribary standard is applied properly and that the relevant management systems function in conformity with the standard.
