KommR Ing. Josef Breiter from Lower Austria is the vice-president of the Lower Austrian Chamber of Commerce. A cabinetmaker by training, he took over his parents' company in 1975 and complemented it by a furniture shop and a technical office for interior design. In parallel, he became active in the Economic Chamber and served as the president of the trade organization of cabinetmakers at the district, provincial and federal level. Moreover, the father of two daughters has served on the board of Holzforschung Austria (HFA) for 33 years and still chairs the certification committee of this wood research institution. For Breiter, standards are "indispensable as guidelines for the state of the art and a global economy."
Since 1999, the wood specialist has also been a court-certified expert in the field of wood. He teaches at the upper secondary technical school in Mödling, has been president of the Vocational School Council in Lower Austria and a member of the Presidential Council of Austrian Standards for many years. The communicative networker stands out by his focus on solutions and his innovative spirit. In 2011, he received the "Great Golden Order of Merit" from the province of Lower Austria.
