Economist and mechanical engineer KommR Dipl.-Ing. Dr.Gerhard Hrebicek, MBA, who studied at the TU Wien as well as the University of Graz and the University of Toronto (specializing in marketing and finance), is the founder and president of the European Brand Institute. Having worked as an independent brand expert and management consultant for more than 20 years, Hrebicek is the scientific director and publisher of the annual Austrian Brand Value Study as well as the GLOBAL TOP 100 Brand Corporations, an international brand ranking. Hrebicek played a leading role in the development of the world's first standard on brand and patent valuation published in Austria.
Building on these experiences, he has led international work on this subject as an Austrian delegate and convenor of the competent working group of ISO/TC 289 "Brand evaluation". Gerhard Hrebicek is recognized as an independent expert in brand and patent valuation, brand- and IP-oriented corporate structuring as well as brand and IP reporting and brand certification world-wide. The Vienna-born expert has been a member of the Presidential Council of Austrian Standards since 2018.
