The law graduate Mag. Dr. Fritz Janda has been the managing director of the Trade Association of Pension Fund Companies at the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber since its foundation in 1993. He began his career at the Austrian Armed forces where in parallel to his studies, he completed his officer education and became colonel. In his activities he focuses on financial markets, old-age provisioning and occupational pensions as well as issues of military policy. The expertise he has built up in the Trade Association also shaped the pension reform and the re-design of severance benefits adopted in the year 2000. It was not least because of the successful support provided that Janda has also managed the platform of occupational pension funds as its secretary general ever since.
As an "old-school" manager and colonel, Janda is also well networked. The Trade Association of Pension Fund Companies is a member of the European umbrella organization PensionsEurope and, since 2008, has taken part in the Denkwerkstatt St. Lambrecht think tank that is dedicated to the topics of providing for the future and old age. Moreover, Janda is a member of the Occupational Pensions Stakeholder Group of the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA). As a legal and military expert, Fritz Janda believes that standards are particularly important – he is also a member of the Presidential Council of Austrian Standards. As a gourmet and wine connoisseur, Janda is a member of the Order of Wine Knights and the Teutonic Order.
