Mag. Ernst Tüchler is an economic expert and works in the economics department of the Austrian Trade Union Federation (ÖGB). The committed representative of labour interests specializes in national and international economic policy and focuses on food, international trade policy and the EU's eastward enlargement in his work. Tüchler stands out by his good humour and an "instinct" for the mechanisms of economic policy.
The economist serves on the supervisory board of Agrarmarkt Austria Marketing and on the Advisory Council on the Environment at the Federal Ministry for Sustainability and Tourism. As an ÖGB representative, Tüchler also contributes his expertise, for example, in the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG), the Fiscal Advisory Council, the Advisory Council for Economic and Social Affairs and the Trade Union Advisory Committee of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Ernst Tüchler sees standards also as an expression of power relations at the time of their development. He has been a member of the Presidential Council of Austrian Standards since 2018.
